Construction of a three-tenant building located between Aldi and Pizza Ranch on New Pinery Road should be completed in August and shortly thereafter an Arby’s restaurant will open for business.
Local Portage developer Lynn Holdings announced today that they have successfully completed the sale of the former Kmart property located at 2935 New Pinery Road on the north side of Portage to an Illinois-based retailer that plans to open the entire 86,000 square foot building this summer with a farm, home, and outdoor sporting goods store.
Lynn Holdings will rent the former Staples store at 2830 New Pinery Road to a Rockford, Illinois, business that plans to turn the entire property into an outlet furniture store, offering a variety of household furnishings.

The national grocer submitted significantly advanced plans to build a new store near the old Kmart location on the city’s north side. The old Kmart building, located at 2935 New Pinery Road, will remain.
